Comments about Acu-Rite Wireless Rain Gauge:

I purchased this unit to replace a 30 year old N.O.A.H. cylinder rain gage thinking that it'd be nice to have the info at hand when it rains instead of going outside to read the old gage. This unit was compact with a large separate display, and seemed ideal, until it rained.

Setting the reciever next to the cylinder gage to test accuracy, I found the difference was huge- we had a slight rainfall 0f .32" in one day as measured by the old gage, and according to the newfangled digital unit, we had .21"... hmmm.

So I separated the units by a few feet, and the next day we had .16" on the cylinder and .11" on the digital unit.

This unit is goin' back- it's cute but I didn't get it for it's looks.
