I was concerned that the temperature measured 1/2 inch from a window might not be the same as temperature out in the free air, but believed the glowing reviews on this website. OK, having found remote sensor outdoor thermometers annoyingly temperamental with placement, batteries, etc. I WANTED to believe the reviews...

We do have high R, doublepane windows (bldg code here is for -40F). Nevertheless, when I measure the temperature 6 feet from the window at 9F, the Window Thermometer measures 19F. Naturally, the spread narrows at warmer temperatures. When the air is 40F, the thermometer reads 35F. It's probably quite accurate when the outside temperature equals the indoor temperature, but what's the value in that data?? I get a better sense of the temperature from sticking my head out the door than from this thermometer.

Website was easily navigated and the delivery was prompt. The thermometer arrived in perfect condition and I appreciate you not using styrofoam popcorn.
