I used to be a severe weather spotter for the ESDA unit of the Hoffman Estates Fire Dept. and even as I am now retired, weather and it's constant changes have always intrigued me and the Acu-rite Weather Center will serve me well in my continued interest as the years go by.
I like all the features of the #01500 in determining how to dress for the day when I will be out for an extended period of time.
Since I bought this product as we are going into the winter season, I have yet to experience the other three seasons with it, but I'm sure it will be just as exciting.

Bought my Acurite Deluxe Weather Station 12/10. The wireless wind sensor died 3/11 (after only 3 months??) at which time they sent me a new one under warranty. That one just died just 2/12 (11 months service). They tell me today parts for this unit are no longer available so 14 months after purchase and 2 wind sensor units later, I am told my [$] unit is now useless. Obviously I do not recommend Acurite products.

The desk unit is very poor quality, it uses touch sensitive plastic front, to use the buttons you have to press on the plastic, there is no feedback, click or otherwise. and the unit freezes most of the time. If I leave it on overnight, it is frozen and does not respond.
the display is very hard to read, and the ticker line is so faint, and blurred its completely useless.
Basically garbage. I would NOT ever recommend this. It was a complete waste of money. I would return it if I could.
Find something else to spend you hard earned money on.

Indoor unit did not operate properly. Unable to set any parameters { date time etc.] It was the product that was not satisfactory not the experience with Hayneedle.

This is a great piece of equipment. I had one previous to this one. However the anometer stopped working. Also I never could get the rain gage to work. I still love it. It's very easy to work.

I'll start with the negative:
It's made of material that won't last beyond a few years. I've had mine for 3 months and it's fine so far.
A little pricey for the quality of material.
The good:
Easy to install, the kids get a kick out of being able to see what the weather is going to be like before they go to school.
