Comments about Oregon Scientific InstaForecast - Global 5-Day Weather Adviser:

This product works great once you meticulously follow the online troubleshooting and software installlation instructions. Those instructions are clear but would be a stretch for the casual and non-IT familiar customer IMHO. Very happy with performance after finally installing correctly. Using Windows 7 ultimate on a moderately fast PC. I love the multi city and multi day forecast feature.

Very good product. Only drawback is that computer must be on all the time. Should have worked off the router.

    Customer Q & A

Q1: Does this unit need to be hooked up to a computer all the time to get the 5 day forecast?

A: This unit comes with a USB transmitter that needs to be plugged into a USB port on your IBM compatible PC. You will then need to install and run the Weather OS software to select the cities you want to monitor on your main display unit. The computer must have internet access and the Weather OS software must be running at all times for the weather data to show on the main display unit.
